What’s In A Face?

Drawing faces matters more than you think. The face makes the magic, it tells us so much of the story

Whether I’m illustrating guests at weddings or live events, my aim is to capture the little details that make someone instantly recognisable. Not just what they wore, but who they are.

A angle of the eyes, the shape of a nose or the way someone holds themselves, these are the details that breathe life into a portrait. They’re what transforms a quick sketch into something that feels personal and familiar. This is why the face is so important to establish a link between the subject and the viewer.
